So, do you Want To Know What Acupressure Is?
It is a type of exercise which involves forcing at the pressure points in ones body. Usually around the fingers, palms, knuckles, feet and elbows and this will relieve the amount of pain and stress in the joints. It will also increase ones well-being and health. The practice was developed in ancient China about five thousands years ago, it is a traditional method which is also used within the temples. It as well does include acupuncture, however it only arose one thousand years later. The methods are used worldwide.
For example, presently in the states, acupressure is only used mainly to relieve pain and promote ones health level. Further more in China, and east Asia, it is most commonly known and used as a method of first aid. It is usually done by someone on themselves. The people in China, mostly use it to relieve common problems such as colds, sore muscles, headaches and hangovers. Most often people would prefer to have a specialist or trained personnel, but once the technique is learned, anyone can perform it on anyone.
The health level of one is constantly changing, and some view it as the change in flow of energy. For example, if the flow is altered, variations and sickness may develop in the body. The main goal in performing acupressure is to release the energy which is captivated in the pressure points, also known as acupoints. These acupoints exist in all fourteen primary meridians. Gentle but firm pressing on these points will increase blood flow and energy flow throughout the body. Acupressure only uses the hands while acupuncture is done with the use of needles. Some studies suggest that there really isn’t any meridians in the body, however these studies to tell us that firm presses on acupoints would help in the release of stored energy. While your under treatment, usually it last anywhere between fifteen and sixty minutes, the personnel would have you sit up or lie down on a table. The fact on whether you must wear clothing depends entirely on the therapist, they can either work with clothing or not.
You would mostly be covered with a towel, if you are not wearing clothing. The therapist would ask you several questions to clarify the problem and region in which to work in. They would then proceed to locate and begin pressing in the appropriate location. Each problem signifies a different pressure point. Each pressure point press would be held for about ten seconds. The treatment is carried out constantly for about twenty to thirty minutes. If there is no response, this treatment is not the one for you on that particular day.
The after effects are just amazing. You will feel more loose and relaxed. You feel some sort of ache, but no
pain. About half a dozen treatment sessions would yield very good results. Six sessions is the right amount to give positive results. As many things go, there are many types of acupressure as well. The most well-known one is known as Shiatsu, it is a Japanese method which originated in the ancient times. The foot plays an important role in the massage. The hands are mostly used in a different type known as the Tui Na. If you are taking medication or suffer from any type of medical problem, you should see a acupressure therapist before you decide on performing the treatment on your own.
This may give you an idea of what you really need. Many of the people who have under-gone this treatment, do agree that they have felt more relaxed and it reduced muscle tension. It is said to decrease back pain, calm headaches. It has healed nausea and migraines. Overall, it builds and promotes the health level and well-being. Choosing an acupressure therapist is not so difficult. They do not necessarily have to be licensed, as there is no licensing. Just a phone call would give you an idea of how they are and whether you like them.
Some Notes To Take Down
- If there is a swollen or inflamed skin present, make sure not to press on it.
- If you are someone who is contagious to certain diseases, avoid the treatment.
- Avoid pressure application where a tumor is known to be present.
- If you are pregnant, you should avoid certain points. Letting the therapist know whether you are or might be pregnant is a good idea.

I have not tried acupuncture but I want to try it so bad. I have suffered from headaches for several years and I would love to find some kind of treatment.
